Bard on the Beach announces cast change for Hamlet and Twelfth Night in final month of festival

August 23, 2024, Vancouver, BC / Traditional territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations – Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival  continues its 35th Season into September and announces a cast change in both Hamlet and Twelfth Night. Beginning September 1, in the production of Hamlet the title role will be played by Chirag Naik. He will also be taking over the whimsical role of Valentine in Twelfth Night. This scheduled change sees him replace Nadeem Phillip Umar Khitab.

Chirag Naik is no stranger to the Bard on the Beach stage, having captivated audiences in past seasons with his remarkable range and depth. His portrayal of Hamlet is eagerly anticipated, bringing a new interpretation to the role as Bard approaches the thrilling conclusion of its season.

Whether you’re eager to see Chirag Naik take on the role of Hamlet or enjoy the humour and heart of Twelfth Night, September is your last month to experience the Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival’s 2024 season. Directed by Stephen Drover, Hamlet has been engaging audiences with its adaptation and dramatic production. Twelfth Night, directed by Diana Donnelly, has been entertaining audiences with its hilarious and musical adaptation.

Ticket prices for all regular play performances start at $30 CAD and are available now. Early booking is recommended for best seat selection, as many performances sell out in advance.
