Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival takes place between June and September on the BMO Mainstage and Howard Family Stage under the tents at Vanier Park.

Bike to Bard

Go green this summer and bike to Bard! The Festival is conveniently located along the Seaside bike route close to the Cypress Bikeway and the Burrard Street Bridge. Bike parking is available on site—please bring your own lock.

Mobi

Find the Mobi bike station located next to the Vancouver Archives, adjacent to the Festival site. Bard attendees will receive 40% off 24 Hour Passes — sign up at mobibikes.ca and use promo code bike2bard (lower case).

Weekend Post-Show Shuttle Bus Service 

We are pleased to introduce a new post-show shuttle bus service running every Friday and Saturday evening to August 31! The trips are one-way at the end of the evening’s performance, from the Bard site in Vanier Park to Waterfront station, with several stops along the way. Tickets are accessibly priced at $13 per person. Check out our information page for more details.

Driving to Bard

From West Vancouver/North Vancouver:

  1. Over Lions’ Gate Bridge (becomes Georgia St.)
  2. Continue down West Georgia
  3. Turn right at Burrard
  4. Continue over Burrard Street Bridge
  5. Right hand lane runs into Cornwall Ave.
  6. Take first right after bridge onto Chestnut
  7. If you miss Chestnut, turn right at Cypress
  8. Turn right onto Whyte Avenue. Site is at the end of Whyte, by the water.

From the South:

  1. Oak Street (continuation of main highway from White Rock and the Canada / USA border)
  2. Left on to Broadway
  3. Right on to Burrard until just before the bridge
  4. Take left lane feed to Cornwall
  5. Take first right off Cornwall on to Chestnut
  6. If you miss Chestnut, turn right at Cypress
  7. Turn right on to Whyte Avenue

Using Transit: Plan your trip

  1. From downtown Vancouver, take bus #2 or #22 from multiple locations along Burrard
  2. Exit bus at stop #50101, westbound at Cornwall and Cypress
  3. Walk North on Cypress
  4. Turn right at Whyte and continue to the Bard tents

You can attend Bard as part of a group tour, with transportation provided. Contact Enjoy Tours for details on their Bard travel/ticket packages.

Parking

There are several parking lots adjacent to the site. There is no parking in the neighbouring residential area. Parking lot at the Museum of Vancouver & H.R. MacMillan Space Centre is now an EasyPark pay lot. A limited number of handicap spots are located in the Archives parking lot.

Please note: EasyPark recently changed the Archives parking to a paid lot. The pay station for this lot is across the street in the Gravel Lot.
