On May 31, Bard on the Beach recognized our top donors at the Renaissance Circle Reception, hosted at the home of Founding Artistic Director Christopher Gaze. It was so special to come together with our community for this intimate event and to celebrate the contributions of our Tudors and Artistic Director’s Circle Members.

“The Renaissance Circle Reception is a marvellous evening – it’s a celebratory event where we can gather together, enjoy a delicious feast and thank our Members personally for their incredible support and generosity.” – Christopher Gaze

The evening featured an address to the audience from Christopher, who honoured the generous gift made by Artistic Director’s Circle Member Dennis McCann in support of Bard’s understudy program.

In addition, director Cherissa Richards (Harlem Duet, 2022; Julius Caesar, 2023) spoke about her experience in the RBC Apprentice Directors program, where she worked on Timon of Athens (2018) under the mentorship of director Meg Roe.

“There is a freedom in being able to create without limits because you have so much support here.” – Cherissa Richards

Thank you to Christopher and Cherissa for your beautiful speeches, and to everyone who made the Renaissance Circle Reception such a wonderful evening. We are so grateful for the continued support of our Members, who make what we do possible. It was a joyous experience to gather with our highest-level donors and share a toast to the upcoming Season.
