Congratulations to all the Jessie nominees and winners! Mara Gottler took home the prize for Outstanding Costume Design for The Merchant of Venice (2011). Director Rachel Ditor was on hand to accept it on her behalf and thanked our head of wardrobe Sydney Cavanagh and all the fabulous men and women who work tirelessly behind the scenes costuming at Bard. It was truly lovely.
Speaking of our wonderful designers and costumers, Patricia Smith, a long time time cutter in our wardrobe department was honoured with the first ever Colin Campbell Award for Excellence in Technical Theatre. Pam Johnson, Bard’s Studio Stage set designer was honoured with the GVPTA Career Achievement Award. Pam’s work can be seen all over Bard on the Beach. She was instrumental in the look of the Bard Village and our Gateway entrance. She also helped design the signature look of the BMO Mainstage sign that greets you as you enter our Mainstage theatre.
Here’s the full list of nominees and winners. Congratulations all around!!
