We can’t wait to welcome you back under the tents at Sen̓áḵw/Vanier Park to experience the topsy turvy carnival world of Diana Donnelly’s Twelfth Night! With just one month to go before the Festival opens, we wanted to introduce you to some of the incredible performers you’ll be seeing on our Mainstage this Season.

Camille Legg will take the stage as Viola, who has been shipwrecked off the coast of Illyria. Believing that her twin brother Sebastian has perished in the wreck, she disguises herself as a young man named Cesario and finds work as a singer for the magician Orsino, played by Aidan Correia. Both Camille and Aidan will be making their Bard debuts this Season, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have them as part of our Mainstage Company!

Olivia Hutt will play Olivia, a fellow circus star whom Orsino is in love with. When she refuses to see Orsino, he sends Viola (disguised as Cesario) to woo her on his behalf—inadvertently setting a series of romantic hijinks into motion. A Bard veteran, Olivia most recently captivated audiences with her performances as Casca in Julius Caesar (2023) and Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2022).

As for the rest of Olivia’s household, award-winning playwright and performer Marcus Youssef will play Olivia’s unruly uncle, Sir Toby Belch, who encourages his friend Sir Andrew Aguecheek (Nathan Kay) to pursue Olivia, much to the displeasure of Olivia’s personal assistant Maria (Evelyn Chew). Dawn Petten makes a triumphant return to the Bard stages as Malvolia, Olivia’s much-maligned manager who becomes the target of Sir Toby and Maria’s pranks, while Anton Lipovetsky joins us for his sixth season at Bard as the stand-up comic, Feste.

Rounding out the Twelfth Night Company are Charlie Gallant as Sebastian/Ensemble, Ivy Charles as Antonia, Christine Quintana as Madame Mystique/Ensemble, Munish Sharma as Curio/Monsieur Topaz, Nadeem Phillip Umar Khitab (to Sept. 1) and Chirag Naik (from Sept. 2) as Valentine/2nd Officer, and Andrew Wheeler as Captain/1st Officer/Ringleader, with Kate Besworth, Matthew Ip Shaw, and Billy Marchenski as our incredible understudies.

We’re so excited to be working with such a talented Mainstage Company, and we can’t wait to see how they’ll bring the revelry and romance of this story to life!
