We are thrilled to announce the establishment of the Audrey and Robert Denison Music Fund at Bard on the Beach, funded by a generous contribution from their estate.
The Denisons were deeply connected to music, theatre and art all their lives, and shared this love of the arts with their family and heirs.
They requested that their estate help promote education and development in the arts, and we are extremely honoured that the executors have chosen Bard as a beneficiary.
Through an incredibly generous gift of $100,000, the Audrey and Robert Denison Music Fund will help support music programming at Bard for the next five years. Additionally, the Fund allows us to add an important new position to our Artistic Administration team. Bard acting Company member and music director Ben Elliott will be joining our Artistic Associates as our music advisor, starting in 2017. Ben has delighted audiences for years as an actor in the Company and as music director of our acclaimed production of Measure For Measure in 2013 and Love’s Labour’s Lost in 2015, as well as last year’s tremendously successful The Merry Wives of Windsor.
The executors of the Denison Estate are longstanding volunteers and generous members of the Bard Family, and this gift continues their long history of extraordinary support for our organization.
Cue the trumpet fanfare!
