Current Opportunities at Bard on the Beach

Thank you for your interest in working at Bard on the Beach, Western Canada’s largest Shakespeare Festival. We work with an annual budget of over $5 million and welcome over 100,000 patrons per year. Now entering our 27th Season, the Festival offers Shakespeare plays, related dramas, and several special events from June through September, and educational programming year-round. Our two large theatre tents are located on Vanier Park's magnificant waterfront, offering views of the ocean, the North Shore mountains and downtown Vancouver.

Administration

Box Office Coordinator

Bard on the Beach is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic individual to become part of the box office team. Working under the direction of the Box Office Manager and the Box Office Supervisor, the Box Office Coordinator will provide operational assistance and team leadership in the Bard on the Beach Box Office.

Artistic/Production

Assistant Stage Manager

The Assistant Stage Manager will assist the Production Stage Manager in the effective running of rehearsals and performances of the BMO Mainstage Theatre (A Category PACT Theatre). Other Bard on the Beach specific tasks, assigned by the Production Stage Manager will also be required.

Venue Technician and Sound Operator (BMO Mainstage)

The venue technician will be required to perform all aspects of work to facilitate the technical operation of the Mainstage Theatre. These include but are not limited to: assisting with the setup and strike of the Mainstage Theatre, operation of sound and other equipment during shows, maintenance of technical equipment, changeovers between shows, and general maintenance of set props and other equipment.

The venue technician will be required to perform all aspects of work to facilitate the technical operation of the Douglas Campbell Theatre. These include but are not limited to: assisting with the setup and strike of the Douglas Campbell Theatre and the Mainstage Theatre, operation of lighting, sound and projection equipment during shows, maintenance of technical equipment, changeovers between shows, and general maintenance of set props and other equipment.
