Bard in Your Neighbourhood

Bard in Your Neighbourhood works with community partners to offer workshops at no cost. Bard Teaching Artists facilitate workshops in playing and understanding Shakespeare. Participants will explore challenging material in a personally meaningful and rewarding way through theatre games and exercises, script investigation and preparation for an informal Shakespeare presentation. The program is designed to be responsive to the participants’ ideas and interests, so the result is a fresh and vibrant take on Shakespeare that transcends expectations and expands horizons.

Participants who want to do more with Bard can join Young Shakespeareans with support from the Bard Access Fund.

“WOW!  What a wonderful gift you have given to all of us at TREES!  I thought the presentation was a huge success.  I went and spoke to all the youth afterwards about how highly you had spoken about them and how proud I am of them.  There were lots of smiles, they really enjoyed themselves.  We had students who tend to be more withdrawn participating in the exercises and having fun. Thank you so much for your patience and generosity in sharing your passion for acting with our students.” Murray Grant, Program Supervisor, TREES Alternative School in Surrey
